tv has coax cable running to it,  cannot hook up with hdmi

Do you mean the TV does not have an HDMI Jack on it and you have to use coax to connect it to the box? If so you need to see if the TV has composite inputs, (yellow, red, white) and use a composite cable from the box to the TV. If the TV only has a coax connection,  you can get a digital converter from Verizon, and eliminate the box, but you wont be able to get all the channels. Or buy an HDMI to composite converter box on the web.
