I recently switched over to FIOS after a verizon rep. came to my apartment. He "forgot" to tell my mother and I about all kinds of different charges and he didn't even tell us about the change in how to dial our on our phone. We went to upgrade our service and it has been an ongoing nightmare. After my mother called in the upgrade and an agent from verizon took it upon themselves to change our service to something we had not requested. i had to call back again to make the correction. The person I spoke to was very rude and talked to me as if i were a 5 year old. She was so bad I had to ask for a supervisor who clearly didn't know her job and products. Anyway I had hoped this would be my last call, but I awoke to another nasty surprise. The supervisor made another mistake when she switched us back to the old plan, so I had to call again. This was the 6th time I have had to call since changing from Direct Tv to Fios about a week ago. When my mother called Direct Tv to cancel our service they warned us that all kinds of hidden charges would appear on our FIOS bill and that we would encounter problems with the verizon service. While this may be poor ethical and professional behavior, the sad thing is that they were absolutely 100% correct. I am now in the process of warning all of my neighbors that switched over to this service to call verizon fios and see if they have been mislead the same way my mother and I have been. The rep. I spoke to today tried to tell me that this is a isolated event, but after talking to a neighbor she said the same exact thing happened to her mother. I plan on contacting the better business bureau to file a complaint and I am going to encourage my neighbors to do the same, so that hopefully that this all too common practice will stop.
