when can I expect IMG 1.9 in Nassau County (Oceanside) Long island?
Can't seem to find any information in the forus about deployment to long island.
anyone?
It has been hinted that we will see the guide upgrade the wednesday after Thanksgiving 11/29.
Been answered Many times.
Nassau is part of VHO 05. Includes nyc, li, westchester, etc.
VHO 05 is part of Dac 5. Dac 5 includes the areas serviced from NYC, RI, MASS .
The roll out by DAC's and this time, because of some other problems not directly related to 1.9, all the other DAC's ended up getting 1.9 first.
FIOS refuses to give out specific dates, but the manager for this does do some twitters and has said around Thanksgiving and mentioned the normal delay between DAC's. Normal delays between DAC's is 2-3 weeks. We appear to have missed 2 weeks (i.e... this week) as we haven't gotten the message again about a new FIOS TV coming. Could be next week or the original projected date of the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Or of course delayed to even later.
tns, I can't follow your response with these technical terms.
What is "VHO 05"?
What is "Dac 05"?
I've seen other people here get so offended by this which I don't really understand . Obviously the rollout in my area happened several months after it was rolled out in other areas. Big deal. I have it now. 🙂
It's not that I'm affected by this but I would like to know for my own knowledge too so I can learn so if you could translate your answer into plain English, that would be great because I have no idea what you're talking about.
VHO--Video Hub Office
Dac-- Digital Addressable controller
The best explanation of these terms I have seen is on this page http://www.dslreports.com/faq/verizonfios/4.0_FiOS_Television#16492
Click on What is a VHO.
So you don't know yourself what you're saying? lol...I don't have time to read through these additional websites because I have things to do. What is a "digital addressable controller"? These are terms that only a Verizon employee can really be expected to know. The general public doesn't know that. I don't know any of that.
And that's another important part of good customer service which many of these corporate giants leave out --- communicating in clear English without sounding like a textbook so that custmers can actually understand and not get more confused. We'll see if that ever really happens with any of these cable providers.
Hardly a complicated thing. They have the video finally coming out to the customers from the VHO. The following chart shows the VHO's they currently have or had but sold to Frontier. The Dac is a larger grouping (based on a hardware/firmware in the boxes) and happens to be how they group the rollout of the IMG software.

I'm not following you. Sorry but I just don't have the time to try to decipher this. I just thought it would help for you to explain what you're talking about. It doesn't matter to me anyway.

VHO 5 being the only one I see in NYC. I would say if you hear or read someone say VHO 5 is getting the update, then you would know you were getting it.
Clear enough?
Since most likely your location comes out of that office.
DAC 5 covers it all. You should be out of this area technical or not.
