why is the denver- utah game blacked out in southern california on nba league pass?

title says it all the nuggets at jazz game is blacked out in the los angeles tv market on my nba league pass? called the nba they say they only handle  the digital broadcast and that verizon handles the tv broadcast of the nba league pass. verizon says its blacked out because the game is on local tv,but i live in southern california and the game is not on nbatv, espn or any local channels here. **bleep** me off the verizon csrs have no clue what i'm talking about. the game is listed in the guide on channel 1497 ,but the message on the screen says this programming is required to be blacked out in this market!
