pato628033,
I know how important it is to have a reliable tablet now a days. Let's look further into yours. You mentioned holding the power + volume down button, I appreciate you giving that a try. On the Ellipsis 8 tablet, the reset is actually the power + volume up buttons together. can I have you give that a try & see what happens?

The same thing happened to my son's device. Plug it into a computer that is powered on for 45 mins with teh factory USB cable. It will help bring back the deeply depleted battery. Then plug it into the wall using the factory cable / plug. Since I did this I've had no issues.

Hi, the same thing happened to me with my Verizon Ellipsis 8 that I had left on the shelf unpowered for a few months. I'd plug it back in but get a battery needs charging icon quickly followed by a battery question mark icon then nothing, even after dutifully charging it overnight. Following the very smart advice below from bd94s10 and briefly plugging in the tablet to the USB port of my powered-on computer for just 10 minutes, I was able to re-plug the tablet back into the wall charger and it began charging normally, as signified by a battery charging icon with a little red bar at the bottom of the icon. It appears that plugging in the tablet to the USB port of a computer somehow rescues the battery from a state of deep depletion, and allows it to resume being able to be charged normally.

Glad it helped. It seems to do the trick to trickle charge it enough for it to come out of the deep depletion state. Thanks for responding back!

I Have a ellipsis 8 that is brand new. I bought it back in 2016 and put it in my desk drawer and just opened it for my Grand son. It will not power on I have tried the reset options and now I have it plunged into my computer to see if a trickle charge will help. Any suggestions or should I just toss it..
Thanks

JPace3, no need to toss the tablet in this case. The reason it doesn't want to power on is because the battery is fully depleted and needs time to charge. Using a computer and the USB cable is the best option on this case. Has anything changed at this point?
Please refer to our Troubleshooting Assistant at the link attached here: http://spr.ly/660017IuY and select the option for "Will not power up" for more steps you can take.
