I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron 660 PC with a 960GB SSD, connected to Verizon FIOS at 50/50 speed. Up until the past week or so, my login to Verizon's email server via my Windows Live Mail client was instantaneous. Suddenly, it's now taking an agonizingly long time for the "Authorizing" step to complete and begin retrieveing my emails. I've checked all my settings and ensured they're in compliance with the newest ones I've seen from Verizon. Can anyone tell me what's happened to my email connection? Has our email been migrated to a slower server, or what? Thanks for any enlightenment.

Sorry guys... I think I just solved my own problem! I had downloaded and installed the free verson of Malwarebytes, and it had managed to switch on a 14-day trial of the full version (with full-time monitoring, etc.). So after suspecting that its "monitoring" probably included my email connection as well, I shut it down and tested. Sure enough, my server login began working normally again. So I've since manually ended the 14-day trial of the full version (which is a dashboard option) and would advise anyone else who's fallen into this trap to do the same. Sorry for taking up valuable forum space.
