Can't connect verizon mail server from Sparrow

I've been using Sparrow on my iPhone to access Verzion e-mail for long, but it stopped working earlier this week.

I made sure I have the setting below:

- POP

  pop.verizon.net

  Port: 995

- SMTP

  smtp.verizon.net

  Port: 465

SSL option is checked, and the above setting has not been changed at all.

I can still access my mail via webmail.  I tried to access verizon mail via iPhone's default mail program and found it worked.  So that means only aceess from Sparrow has the problem, while accessing to the same server with the same seeting from qnother mail client works.  I tried to access my mails on my iPad by installing Sparrow on it, and had the same problem.  This does not make sense to me at all.

I get the following error message.

Connection to the mail server could not be established.  Either your connection is not availalble or the mail server is unavailalble.

I tried to delte and create the account again, but it didn't help.

Any idea on what's wrong?

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Sorry to hear you have the same problem, but nice to hear I'm not alone.

I had a chat with Verizon before, which did not help.  I'll try to call them and mention other people have the same issue.

Lets keep updated eavch other!

I'm not familiar with Sparrow, and it looks like Google has pulled it from the app store. Can you provide a screenshot of your settings with personal information blocked?

I don't know how to block personal information in the screenshot.  Here's what I have, though.

- Receiving Server

  Server Type: POP

  Host: pop.verizon.net

  Login: My Verzion Account

Password Password for my Verizon Account

  Port: 995

  Secure: Checked

- Sending Server

  Host: smtp.verizon.net

  Login: My Verzion Account

Password Password for my Verizon Account

  Port: 465

  Secure: Checked

From phenomena, only thing I can think of is Verizon is rejecting connections from this particular mail client, since I can connect thier sever with another mail client with the setting above.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
