Can't log into webmail with linux

Hi.

Lately I haven't been able to get into webmail (or any of my Verizon account for that matter) on my linux box.  I'm given a screen where I have to enter my user ID but not my password.  Then I click sign in and everything just hangs until it times out.  All I see on the bottom of the screen is waiting for auth.verizon.com.  This is happening in both Firefox and Chrome and for all user profiles of the computer, even administrator.

Everything works fine on my Windows PC and the POP/SMTP clients.

This also seems to have coincided with the deployment of the new screen that asks for only user ID and not password.

Any help would be appreciated.
