I never linked my Verizon and Yahoo accounts. (always thought was a bad idea.) Instead, I setup Yahoo webmail to retrieve Verizon mail so I could check it same time as Yahoo mail while at work. This allowed me to also download via Thunderbird on my home pc. Never had problem until, a few days ago. Suddenly I cannot get any Verizon mail on yahoo webmail page. I've tried every variation of old and new port numbers and settings with no luck. I can still receive other non-yahoo pop3 mail there but not Verizon. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problems with my Verizon Yahoo POP mail in Outlook. It worked fine for 2 years. It stopped working yesterday evening and hasn't worked since.
I can still get to my e-mail through Verizon web mail, but the incoming POP server seems to be failing.
and a friendly response-- I already did that and received no helpful info--only the basics I can do with my eyes closed.
Thanks anyway!
remember I said i never linked the 2. I can get verizon email with no problem via Thunderbird, only cannot via Yahoo's webmail page.
Guess I'm having the opposite problem! I can get to everything via Yahoo Web Mail but not through Outlook!
Interestingly enough, I decided to give the In-Home Agent a try while I waited on hold for tech support. To my surprise, it worked. My e-mail works again!
Update --Chatted online today with Verizon to solve thsi problem. They did not give any new info, but for some strange reason, the problem went away right after talking to them! Sometimes I think there's a red button they push when they feel like it to clear up problems automatically!
They are working on the E mail as it has suddenly developed numerous problems. I think this started when they tried to add the new https page sign-in. There seems to be an incompatibility problem with Microsoft Internet Explorer. I would just wait till they get it fixed.
Probably it is all related to the Microsoft fix kb2585542. It is causing grief at many sites, and Verizon is definitely one of them. Also effects several VPN.
It is not clear if there is anything wrong with the FIX or if it just that these sites haven't made allowances for the change of flow that the FIX introduced.
