Why can't I stay signed in to my email? I sign in, check the box to stay signed in for two weeks. But every time I go back to my email I keep having to sign in again. Very irritating and time consuming. Any suggestions how to fix this problem? TIA
I am sorry to hear about your problems with staying signed in. A cookie file is saved on your computer to log you back in automatically when you come back to the site. If you delete your cookies or temporary internet files then that cookie will be gone and you wont automatically be logged in. The clearing with the cookies can either be manual or automatic.
I have this problem and find the reply totally unhelpful because it doesn't say how to fix it. How does one stop the program from deleting cookies?????
Easiest and BEST solution....
Don't rely upon Webamil and use an email client on a computer.
There can be any number of programs on your computer to manage your temporary internet files. Giving an exact step by step is impossible. You are more familiar with the software on your computer than anyone else. A good alternative would be to use a email client such as Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Mac Mail, etc.
get rid of that checkmark.

Unchecking that doesn't really help. I know as I normally have it checked, but turned it off during Olympics as it was causing the special NBC Web Olympics' coverage not to work, and yet even with it unchecked I was regularly ending up having to login again.
I even reported several cases, which did get forwarded to their programmers, where, while staying within verizons web pages, it would apparently throw away your login.
Don't understand how the cookies work but I'm really irritated when all other email services (Gmails, Yahoo and Smartermail) worked - meaning I stay signed in all day, every day, Verizon email signs me out every 5-10 minutes. The rep I spoke to said nothing about cookies but only that "there is nothing they can do about it", that "it is for my business security".
On a typical busy day I have to re-sign back in 30 times or more and every so often I get "quota near full" because Verizon gives me a puny little inbox. My free Gmail and Yahoo never get full, never!
Remember you are talking to peers here, and this is an old thread. As i posted in 2012, they definitely log you out. THey recently acknowledged this in a newer thread. They think its a necessary security feature for Webmail, but it contracdicts the keep logon on of the single signon for the other portion of Verizon's site.
ps: TNS is my other Verizon account, but these days I rarely use it in the forums.
TNS_2
so to be sure i got this, Verizon offers a "stay signed in" button, but that doesnt work, however it use to work fine, so to repair they are telling us to get another email account? Did i miss somethig?
Yes. i know this thread is old, but I am trying to fix the same problem here in 2015. Anyone have ideas or solutions that helped?
