Im anticipating a change in service provider and was wondering if I can maintain my current Verizon e-mail account?  If not what do I have to do to transfer my e-mails?

You can try Verizon your Domain. http://www.verizon.com/home/mlp/utilities/domain-name/  

Otherwise try a service that will transfer your email.http://alternativeto.net/software/trueswitch/
