Change password for Verizon Yahoo linked account

Hi, my Yahoo account was recently hacked and I was encouraged to change the password. But because it was linked to a Verizon FiOS account, I was redirected from Yahoo to Verizon. But I don't have Verizon credentials to help change the password. After exchanging emails with the Yahoo team, their only recommendation was to have the Verizon and Yahoo accounts unlinked. Can you please unlink my Yahoo and Verizon accounts so I can resolve this issue? My Verizon Yahoo email account is {edited for privacy}
