I wish to set up a new and separate Verizon.net email account for my wife. f How do I set one up in addition to the one I have now .....*net

Yes it can be done. Just did it and checked it out.
Used my iPad to send and receive from the subaccount.
Suggest you start from scratch creating a new subaccount.
Review all parts of how you have your primary Email set up
If you are using an iPad or something like it make sure have set up Mail accounts for both your primary and subaccount.
Procedure for creating a Subaccount
Sign in to My VZ
Goto: Profile>> Subaccounts
- Mark as New
- Bookmark
- Subscribe
- Subscribe to RSS Feed
- Permalink

Procedure for creating a Subaccount
Sign in to My VZ
Goto: Profile <<_ (notice that this is in red)
It will get you here:
My Profile
Security
Notifications
Sub Accounts
Sub Account holder can watch TV shows and movies through the internet and mobile app.
When you click Sub Accounts at this point you should be able to see any subaccounts you already have
Or
You can add a new one

Yes I get there but nothing to click to add new or even edit the one that's there
