Discontinuing internet/phone service; possible to keep verizon.net email?

Hello! I'm in the DC area and am canceling my Verizon DSL and home phone service. Is it possible to keep my current  verizon.net address? I see that Verizon My Domain is no longer an option; are there any others?

You can keep your email as long as you continue to use it.  If you fail to logon/retrieve email for 6 months you will lose it.  This was announced a bit ago.

Does this apply to the main email address as well as any sub email accounts? For example I have an alias account will that still work too?
