Email Small Screen Area for Actual Message

Is there a way . . . shoot I can not paste a screen shot that shows how small the area of the screen the text of my friend's email compared with the area Verizon uses to manage showing me that email text.  I have to characterize it as less than 15%.  I line countsj I 3 small font lines of the message I can see at a time with a tiny scroll bar and whoa 15 big lines or red bars or gray borders or tabs and support at the bottom (which looks like someone did economize) that leads to "Today's Feedback is Tomorrow's Enhancement" and "Unfortunately this survey has been closed"  So enough venting . . Is there away to just open the email without the excessive Verizon overhead on the screen?  I do have screen shots to show what I am talking about.
