Email TIMING OUT!!

It is SO frustrating to type up a nice email message and go to send it only to find out you've been TIMED OUT!!!!!!!!!  Sometimes a person might get interrupted while preparing a message, sometimes the thought process may take a little longer, sometimes it could be a LONG message ... WHY does it have to time out all the time????  This is probably the thing I absolutely HATE the most about my Verizon email account.  I just went through it again a little while ago ... got a message all ready to send and BOOM!  TIMED OUT!  You need to fix this problem because it is REALLY irritating and time consuming because NOW I have to start the message all over again and be scared to death it's going to time out again...**bleep**, **bleep**, **bleep**.  By the way, I am a very quick typist, so THAT is NOT the issue; but I feel for anyone who is NOT quick on the keys.

I wish I could help you with the timeout issue but unfortunately I can't. I really don't use the webmail interface much, but when I do I never, ever have been timed out. So it most certainly does not happen to everybody, although you are not the first to complain about it, so it clearly does happen to some. Maybe if you give us some more information something common in your environment will trigger an idea of what might be causing your problem. So, what are you using?

1) Basic or Rich interface

2) Browser

3) Windows (what version), MAC, Lenux

And one suggestion: assuming you are using some version of Windows, whenever you have typed enough of a message that you want to be able to easily recover it if it gets lost for any reason, put the cursor somewhere in the new message and hit CTL-a to select (highlight) the entire message, then CTL-c to save the message to the clipboard. Then if the message does get lost, you can log back in, begin to compose the message again, and use CTL-v to paste the saved text into the new message. Not a solution, and you have to remember to save what you have typed before you try to send it, but it might help some.

Of course another option is to use an email client like Outlook Express, Windows Live Mail, etc instead of the Verizon webmail interface. I use Windows Live Mail, I am very happy with it, and it is free (I assume here you are using Windows, but there are email clients for all operating systems).

As I said, give us more info about your environment and maybe somebody will see what is causing your issue.

I recently switched my accounts over here from another provider.  I have had the same webmail time out issue several times now and would really like to see it fixed!  I have spent several minutes typing in emails only to hit send and get logged out insted of having my message delivered.  This has already happened on multiple ocassions.  I never had this problem with my old provider.

Hopefully someone at Verizon will look into this issue!?

Just like I responded to the previous poster, if you want help from anybody you need to provide details - Verizon service (FiOS, DSL), browser, OS, webmail version, etc. I think it is useless for you to make this kind of post without providing all the information you can about your environment. Plus of course this is a user helping user forum, so it is unlikely (although possible) that Verizon will jump in to help here; if you really want Verizon to help, you should use the online chat or call tech support and report the problem.

But if you do provide details maybe somebody here will be able to help you. Again, as I said in my first post, I do not see the timeout problem, so it does not affect everybody. More info please....

My first visit here and this is what I get!?

You can't provide help "I wish I could help you with the timeout issue but unfortunately I can't." but you can provide attitude "Just like I responded to the previous poster".

Thanks for the input....

Well, first of all, stop and think, how can anybody help you when all you say is it doesn't work? How would you help somebody that provides only your totally informationless statement?

Second, this is a user to user forum, none of us users have access to Verizon's information, source code, test tools, etc, we are here to try to help, based on our own experience and knowledge.

Third, you posted in a thread where the original poster did not provide much info, I suggested they provide more, and you just totally ignored that request. Did you even bother to read the thread before you posted?

And last, if you want help, it usually works better if you are at least reasonably nice.  Do you actually want help or are you here to just complain?

Now to come back to the actual problem: I said what I said because I do not experience that problem, not now, not ever. So I cannot help identify and solve your problem. And I really don't think anybody else can either from the non-information you provided. But maybe some magical angel will step forward with a solution, even without additional information from you. But I would not hold my breath....

Good luck.

User 1: I'm having a problem!

User 2: I'm not seeing the problem. Can you provide more info so I can try to help?

User 3 (you): I'm having the same problem!

User 2: Still need more info.

And you're complaining about that? Seriously?

He's not trying to be rude, he's trying to help. We're not psychic. We're end-users here. We can't see your account or settings. The best we can do is try to replicate it with our own and find a solution. We do this in our spare time, free of charge, because we want to help people.

If you want Verizon to look at it, contact Verizon. (Options on their Contact Us page.)

If you want help from the forum users, provide more info.

If you just want to complain, please find somewhere else to do it. It is unproductive and clutters the forum.

Have an incredible day.

Go to your homepage.  Click on "Feedback" at the top of the page and report the problem there.  Be sure to give detailed information about your computer, problem, etc.  Your E mail doesn't really time out, It is saved in your  drafts folder.  You can continue writing and still send the E mail.  If yours doesn't do that, there is something wrong.  You need to either give these nice people on the forum all the information they seek or contact Verizon.

I get great help here, but I am patient and most of all nice!!!

I am now also having the Timing out E mail problem.  I use Verizon web mail and all has been fine until today.  It looks like this problem is spreading.  Perhaps when enough people report it, it will be fixed.  It is annoying to begin to write an E mail and get timed out and have to sign in again.

I reported it  by submitting it to feedback on the E mail page.

If you are having the problem, please report it in as many placs as you can.

I'm having the same problem today, but I'm going to fill in a feedback  form to Verizon. Also I might send a private message to a Verizon tech. This is not the first time this has happened to email, but I thought maybe it wouldn't happen again, especially after all thr problems they had with getting up their new Verizon homepage.
