I received an email this AM, supposedly from Verizon wireless, that my 1/28/14 credit card pay't was declined, due to incorrect card info, and I should click on a link provided, to update card ninfo.
I do not have Verizon wireless, I did not try to make a pay't today, and my card info is up to date. Also, email did not appear to come from Verizon. I am trying to determine if this is a phishing email or a mistake on Verizon's part. Further, customer ID and acct # did not match mine.

Yes it is a phishing email. Delete without clicking on any links.

As previously said the one you just got is phish.
Even if I knew it was legitimate, I would NEVER clink on a link in an email.
If you have in a account with a company go directly to their website and login as you normally would to fix such things. Ditto for strange phone numbers. Call the main one you know not one left in an email or voicemail.
Just got same letter addressed to Undisclosed Recipients. Knew it was spam.
Thanks for your info and feedback. Had already done as you suggested. Much appreciated.
