No matter how many times I change my Outlook email settings for Verizon, the new settings have never worked. I used to be able to at least receive email, but for many months I have not been able to send email. I have called support and emailed Verizon and no one has been able to help.
So now as of 11/11/2013, I can't receive or send email and I have tried to change my settings to the new settings, and nothing works. I have gone to verizon.com/emailsettings for step by step instructions, all to no avail.
I also have comcast.net and my own website email in Outlook and now NONE of my email accounts work as of 11/11/2013. It appears Verizon is the key to my problems.
Any thoughts?

IF outlook is configured to leave a copy on the VZ server... use this link and let us know if you can send/receive https://mail.verizon.com/webmail/driver?nimlet=showmessages&view=emails
NOTE this is a workaround for now. Also what version of Outlook are you using ?

Verizon should have no impact on your ability to use Outlook with your comcast.com account. Verizon is only providing the pipe to Comcast, and I can get there there just fine. Something must have been changed in your Outlook setup for your Comcast account (which is separate from the settings for your Verizon account) or Comcast must have changed something that broke your Comcast settings.
If you provide your exact Outlook settings (inbound and outbound including servier names, ports, and SSL settings), perhaps someone can help.
Also, can you successfully use the Verizon webmail to access your mailbox?

Try a Bing web search for "unlink verizon email yahoo" for some solutions. There actually is another thread on the Verizon forums on this topic on this topic. It is quite long. And there are a number of others on the Verizon forums that came up in the web search.
FYI this is a peer-to-peer forum and Verzion generally does not respond to direct questions like this, and only sometimes for real issues that need technical support (like outages, etc.).
Maybe another forum member has done what you're trying to do and can help, or the answer is in the link I provided or the other results you will get with the web search.

After Verizon bugged me about it for months, I finally changed my settings about two weeks ago. Then all of my mail recieved after 11/29 disappeared yesterday, and no more mail came through until this morning when I changed back to the old ones and all my mail came flooding back. And now I'm receiving new mail. What's going on? I'm using Thunderbird 24.1.1

I have the exact problem with Outlook 2010. I had been on the phone with verizon for at least two hours after which I was referred to the verizon "Experts" who offered me a monthoy plan for maintenance. I declined and will try to contact Microsoft Outlook next. Verizon has created a nightmare for me.
