For the last two days we get a message the our Email Server certification is questionable. It is the same one we have used since we when to Verizon years ago. Through DSL and now FIOS nothing has changed why would it now started warning us the email server certification is questionable do we want to continue on with sending our email. It happens I believe only when we send an email.

After a few tries I can usually get it to work or send BUT WHY NOW, IT NEVER DID THIS BEFORE?

Did you get an email with the latest settings: ?

Server

Current Setting

New Setting

SSL Enabled

Port

POP3 Server

incoming.verizon.net

pop.verizon.net

YES

995

SMTP Server

outgoing.verizon.net

smtp.verizon.net

YES

465

The "current" settings are being phased out so you may want to setup with the new settings. If you need help let us know what client you are using (if any).

Can you get to your email here without the issue? https://mail.verizon.com/webmail/driver?nimlet=showmessages&view=email

Greetings,

I had those setting however the Support person took control of my mouse and changed the port numbers and some of other settings.

Now everything works great.

I thought the setting numbers you posted where the most current and I used them the tech changed them.

If the changed them from those posted (see also http://verizon.com/emailsettings ) then you will eventually have trouble.  Possibly quite soon as message have gone out saying the settings need to be changed by Sept 2013, i.e. now.

The most common thing be missed is that they also require Normal (clear) password.  NOt SPA, NOT AUTHENTICATED.  Those were allowed on the previous servers even using all the other settings but are not allowed on the new servers.

For past 2 days, can't send nor receive email from my computer.  I can use my iPhone to send/receive.  iPhone has the old settings that are being phased out, computer was updated to the new POP settings outlined in notification of March 21st (when input these settings into iPhone at that time, mail stopped worked, so it was reset to original incoming.verizon.net etc. settings.

i reset computer settings to original, but still cannot send/receive.  (A note:  yesterday I could receive, not send.  Today I can do neither).

Steps taken so far:  rebooted modem, set/reset mail settings.  First error boxes noted that the server did not recognize the account; latest response is:  RSystemRoot%\system 32.RSAdnh.dll  which i think refers to some Microsoft program.  Internet Explorer is the application.

Can anyone save me from a 40-minute tech services phone call today???

The phone number is 1-800-837-4966 and wait for a walking talking tech who takes over your PC. The Tech I had took control and corrected everything wonderfully. He was outstanding, besides the port numbers other things had to be changed.

I really wanted to give him a GREAT review however I did not get the chance to.

If someone posts where I can do that I would appreciate the link.

Are you using the Web mail.  You mentioned Internet explorer.  Internet explorere does not use or care about the new email settings.  They apply to various mail clients such as Microsoft Outlook express, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Live Mail, and Thunderbird.

If you are using a email client, which one and which operating system and release numbers.
