My Verizon e-mail account seems to have been hacked into. E-mail messages are being sent out to my contacts using my e-mail address. So, it appears as if I'm sending the e-mails BUT I am not. What do I do to prevent this from happening again?

Unfortunately, it is something that can happen to anyone and speaking from experience, it's really annoying--I never keep my address book/contacts using the standard address book for any email software I use and I've been lucky that while one of my email accounts was hacked, the addresses/contacts for that account were not compromised...
