I received Verizon's msg. to migrateAOL and did. All went well ... I thought. This morning I can receive incoming messages but every attempt to SEND is rejected with a popup that the outgoing server rejected. I've tried using AOL suggested server settings ... to no avail. Does anyone have the correct server settings for this new arrangement? My old was SMTP.verizon.net (no longer works); have tried smtp.aol.com (port 587) .. it also does not work.
The way this has been handled by Verizon --in my humble opinion -- stinks.
My configuration shows the smtp port to be port 465.
The settings shouldn't need to be changed. You can continue to use smtp.verizon.net port 465. normal (clear text) password, ssl/tls, password required. You do need to make sure you have YOURUSERID@verizon.net at least in your pop settings.
See page https://help.aol.com/products/aol-mail-verizon
and specifically for pop they have settings and various cliens described in
