Sudenly I can't send email out, Verizon reporst I'm trying to send spam out. Same results, both Thunderbird and Verizon webmail. It does let me forward older emals. I can, however, send messages from my wifi laptop, no problem.
Have run virus scans and chkdsk, System Restore doesnt work. Yet (will run againfrom Safe Mode.)
Any insights into this?
i think if the computer that can't send email is using the same router as wi-fi laptop is using, then my solution won't work......that being said, rebooting your router (or turning power to it off then after 15 seconds turning power back on) can often get your router assigned a new i.p. address, and then your email might work again......i guess the trouble arises if the i.p. address randomly(?) assigned to your router from verizon has been flagged as sending spam in the past, then u try to send email , and verizon's filters block it.....getting a new i.p. address will fix that, provided it too isn't flagged as a spam-sender.......i think there is an extra step u need to do to ensure that your router doesn't just get assigned the same i.p. address again, like leave router off for a few hours or release the dhcp lease from within router's settings, but i'm not sure how to do that last thing,....anyways, hope this helps

Normally when your outgoing mail is being intercepted by Verizon's Spam detector it has something to do with the content of the email. The most common cause is something in the "signature" (such as advertisements or URLs) that is being flagged as potential spam. That said, if you use a particular signature for all of your outgoing email, try removing it from the equation and try sending a test message. Hope that helps.

I ran into this recently and found, after much trial and error, that email containing a link with ".biz" domain caused the message to be rejected as spam. Very annoying when trying to send someone a link to a valid site. Of course nothing on the Verizon "help" was of any use.
May not be the problem you're having, but thought I'd pass it on anyway.

Actually, thank you very much for this information. My business has a .biz domain, and has been marked as "spam" as well. The automated spam removal system didn't work, and tech support was stumped as to why this would happen. I also coulden't figure out why my site kept getting blocked.
Bad move by Verizon in my opinion. I know tons of legitimate websites that use the .biz TLD, and this is hindering business for many of them (such as myself included).
** Edit **
I forgot to mention, calling support and talking to the mail admin got my domain ban removed.
They don't block all email with a .biz. Lots of valid .biz sites. Just tested with a few of them in an email and had no problem.
Interesting.
I wonder if their spam filter system just takes more precaution on .biz domains then?
kpcarroll, can you tell me if you connect your wifi laptop to the internet thru the same router as your device that can't send email, can your wifi laptop still send email? if it cannot , then it is possible that another fios customer did send spam and had the same i.p. address then as u do now...and the address got flagged as a spammer by vzsfilters....if this is the case, then i still think if u get a new i.p. addy assigned to the Verizon side of the router, you will be ok again to send email...u can turn router off overnight to release your current i.p. and almost guarantee you'll be assigned a different one when you power it on in the a.m.....
