I have had problems with Outlook 2007 collecting email from Verizon for the last few days. I am using the newer server settings:
pop.verizon.net
smtp.verizon.net
SSL enabled, port 995 for incoming and 465 for out going.
I can send email from this account in outlook, but not receive. I also tried on a Kindle and it also can not connect to the verizon server.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong, or is verision having server issues?
Thanks
Steve
I was finally able to send email by going into Outlook account setting and click more settings and under the outgoing server tab :
Check the box - My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
Check - Log on using:
(Fill in your username and password)
Check the box - Require Secure Password Authentication
To think Verizon could not figure this out and tried to get me to pay a third party for help really angers me! I hope this works for you too!
