In your email account, go to Settings,  General Settings and set the Number of messages per page to "no limit."   Then  in Conversations, click the top box (just below delete)  which will select all messages.  Then click Delete.  It may take a few minutes to delete that many. 

That will be as permanent as you can make it.  But just like deleted files on your computer, delete doesn't destroy all traces.
