Problem with config. genie for pop server.

I am using Thunderbird 24.1.0 on a pair of macs. I created a subaccount a few years ago, specified pop, and used the genie to do the config. Unfortunately, it came out NOT pop, though I had specified pop, but set to use "incoming.verizon.net", which was the old configuration from Verizon. I then trid to make another pop account, using the manual config. This worked correctly.

I have been using the old account so long that telling everyone would be a Problem. I would like to setup my email so that referencing the old account would get the new one. How can I do this?
