Restoring deleted e-mails

My dad accidentally deleted all of the e-mails in his Inbox & from the Trash folder. They've been permanently deleted, right? There's no way that he can recover them, is there? Yahoo doesn't keep a backup copy of every members mail, does it? So, he's out of luck, right?

I forwarded the e-mail to my sister. She lives with my parents. I don't know if she has tried to restore my dad's e-mails.
