Someone Using My email Address to Send Spam

Does anyone know how to stop and preventing someone from using my email address? It says it's coming from Verizon. net moblie. I thought verizon put measures in place to prevent this sort of thing from happening?

Use a strong, complex password. Make sure the answer to your Secret Question isn't something that can be easily guessed or searched on the internet. Always check before entering your login info into ANY page that it is a legitimate Verizon page. Never give your username and password to anyone, even if they claim to be from Verizon. (Anyone within Verizon that needs your login info can already access it from their systems.)
