Just because spammers are sending to verizon.net addresses does not mean Verizon has been "hacked." Spammers can send to any address or combination of addresses they want, and it has nothing to do with Verizon's internal security.
At a guess, I'd say they are working from a dictionary-spam list, and they are currently at the section with possible verizon.net addresses.
Don't click on anything in the email. Don't respond to the email. Mark it as spam if the Spam Detector didn't catch it.
somegirl,
here are some facts first off the suspicious emails are spoofs.verizon has been working on the spam detector for 9years and it still is a complete failure.the spam detector is not filtering inbound mail, i know this cause if you do a reply to sender
you get a outbound spam faq, all you have to do to fool the spam detector is change your ip and or your domain.
the other problem is why is the announcement page being viewed by everyone verizon is telling the spammers
they are on to them it should be only verizon customers should view the announcement page.
i filter verizon because they have nothing too offer me via email.spam does not effect me i have it under control
