Synching email with samsung galaxy s4

Just got a samsung galalxy s4 and when i loaded verizon.net email the mail drops off as new mail is loaded.  using new port settings and incoming/outgoing server names...as instructed by the email i restarted the samsung........

Verizon wireless says this is a known issue with verizon.net

Any one having the same issues??

Check the settings for the mail account. The number of emails stored in the phone can be changed. It is called Recent Messages in my S3
