Technical support

This is a real stumper.

I have been talking to tech support for 4 day (hours) with no possibility of solving this issue so far.

I have 4 sub accounts, all working fine (sending and receiving) except one business sub account.

I receive all emails. No problem BUT..... Sending has been the real head ache!!

All outgoing emails keeps being tagged as "spam" when it isn't "spam"  (when sent as described below.....)

I discovered after examining my outgoing letters I am mailing will only be identified as spam when I insert our manufacturing toll free or regular line phone number within the message or the signature.  If I delete the phone number (which I of course don't want to do) then the email will send in that format.  No one seems to be able to solve the problem.  I have notified "White List" I have had Verizon share screen and see the problem but no one has an answer. They respond with an auto response that I am having a problem with receiving..And are trying to fix.... .No! No! The REAL problem is with sending... Good grief!

Really getting frustrating when no one has an answer!!

To recap:

  • If our companies main office phone number is in the message or signature it is tagged as spam..??
  • If the phone numbers are omitted in the message or signature the email will go as meant.

If any one has experienced such an anomaly I would appreciate their input

I don't want to switch to cable but may have to if problem can't be resolved quickly!

Sorry you are having difficulty, an agent with access to your account will reach out to you directly by email, private message in the Forums and/or the billing telephone number on your Verizon account for more information to help you resolve your issue.

Doug:

The Verizon content filters are very sensitive.

See my post;  Re: Message from System Administrator / Undeliverable

If you have isolated the content filter targeting your phone number that is a real hassle.

What I suggest is, first and foremost, do not use Webmail, use an email client.

Create a GIF, JPEG or PNG that containts your contact information such as would be in your signature such as your name, address, phone numbers, etc.

Then insert that graphic that contains your contact information in your salutation (aka; signature block).  Since the content filters work on Clear Text they can not "interpret" text in a graphic and the email you are sending won't get flagged as spam.

I appreciate your responding

(I had trouble find the private message envelope until I opened a new thread?)

I am using Windows 7 MS Outlook 2007 and have used Outlook for over 7 years for my business emails processes.

Why all of sudden my emails are being tagged as spam because our phone number is in the body of the email  that our customers rely on in responding to question doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.  I am only sending out no more than 6 to 7 emails a day.

Strange thing also I am in Pennsylvania using Verizon my home office in Oxnard, California is also Verizon and having the same problem when the add their business phone numbers to the text or signature.  When they mail to my email address {edited for privacy} from {edited for privacy}

I don't use Web Mail I can use any of my sub accounts and if the phone numbers are inserted within the text or signature it presents the same problem.  Sounds like a Verizon problem to me...

Why all of a sudden this is happening unless I have been hacked and they are somehow sabotaging my outgoing email.

I would appreciate an "Expert contacting me and viewing my problem on screen"  I can't hold out much longer with this problem

I am putting another phone number in my letters so I can respond but really need my corporate phone number within the email.

I hope you can help...   Doug

Doug:

It is a REAL HASSLE that the content filters flag a phone number.  I can't see why it should.  It isn't the kind of material (I think) that should be used as a semephore of spam.

However, I gave you a methodology you can easily implement in Office Outlook. It will bypass the problem until a resolution is made.

In the meantime you should beat on Verizon's doors to get the phone number(s) eliminated as a spam critera.  Even if it's the doors on West Street in NYC.

I must have irritated someone so much that my email sending is now working from MS Outlook.  I have been harassing technical support for about 5 days and trying to understand the tech people on the phone (dialect)  is another issue.

I have yet to find out if my home office has resolved the same problem on their server....

I was all set to call the highest authority. (well..... Not quite THE highest) within the Verizon massive complex.  It has been a nightmare trying to figure out.

Thanks for your response
