I am encountering an "Error 550 5.7.1 Invalid email address" while adding a new screen name. Doesn't give a reason why it's invalid & the properties are the same as those on the existing screen name used by this person.
How do I get past this error?
Send test e-mail message: Cannot send the message. Verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 550 5.7.1 Invalid mail address <newname@verizon.net>
I do not want to create a sub-account, just an additional account for someone.
Hi cnita,
Sorry to hear that you're having problems. On the additional email account, did you spell it like this, <newname@verizon.net> or this, newname@verizon.net instead. The only reason you should get this error is if it's spelled incorrectly or isn't an active email account. We hope that this helps.
Thanks,
CJ
I spelled it as: newname@verizon.net
The other screen names on the account are working properly. With your bracketed format, the new error below appears:
Send test e-mail message: An unknown error occurred, error code: 0x800ccc81
Cnita,
Had you created the username on your myverizon.com page after logging into your primary email account?
~Eva
No, Eva..........didn't do that when the existing ones were set-up, either..
