Unable to receive @verizon.net Email Using Microsoft Email App

Frustration is mounting. First, my Samsung Galaxy S4 stopped being able to retrieve @verizon.net Emails when using the stock Samsung Email app. Upon the advice of one of the lead posters over on the Verizon Wireless forums, I'm now using the Gmail app to access those Emails. Now, I'm unable to retrieve @verizon.net Emails on my two Microsoft Surface devices using the stock Microsoft Email app. I can send Emails using the address, but, not receive any. I compared the settings between the Gmail and Microsoft apps and they are identical. Am I missing something?
