Undelerable Mail Account hacked

Hi I have been getting several messages a day from Verizon about undeliverable mail. >>Your message has been enqueued and undeliverable for 2 days to the following recipients:..... I have no access to this message and it's not something I sent. Several of my contacts have responded back to me saying that they received an mail from me that looks bogus. The two messages are the same. I have changed my password but that didn't help. Can this be terminated or blocked? Marc

Just started having the same problem here, getting bounch back emails for undeliverable mail that I did not send. Ran virus scan, computer came back clean. Any way to stop these emails from clogging my inbox?

After reviewing previous posts in this forum it appears that this is a common issue. The only response is to change your password. Everyone who said they did that said it did not stop the bounce back of the Verizon message. Your message has been enqueued and undeliverable for 2 days to the following recipients: It appears that something is stuck on the server. after 5 days it says it failed, on the next day it starts over. Same message, same error. How about some help Verizon? Marc

Here is something I just tried. I use Thunderbird as my email client. When I travel I use Verizon's email interface from the web. The rejected email is on the contacts list on the Verizon "MyVerizon" email interface. But not at home on my PC. I noticed that the stuck email was an old contact that I had deleted form Thunderbird on my home PC. After some review it is clear that the addresses that were hacked were from the Verizon list (a very reduced list) and not my PC list. I have now deleted all the contacts from 'MyVerizon'. I think Verizon should be able to intervene in this kind of issue. Deleting all contacts may not be a solution for most people. Marc

Do change your password

Make sure you set up your laptop and other portable devices to use SSL for email.  This should make your email safer when you are not connected via Verizon.

Avoid WEBMAIL as it does not stay in https for all operations.
