I've received 3 emails from Verizon saying I have to make changes to my email account and if I don't then my email will be interrupted. I don't understand how to do this. I am using Mozilla Thunderbird and that is not one of the choices given. The choices listed are Outlook Express and Outlook 2002 thru 2010. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am using Thunderbird 24.1.1 (the latest version) and am trying to change my account settings to the new settings. I can and have changed the outgoing server settings, but am not able to change the incoming (SMTP) server settings, as there are no setting options boxes available. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: I found the server settings box for outgoing servers in Thunderbird. Once you pull up the account settings, you have to scroll all the way down to the bottom to get to the Outgoing Server (SMTP) options. There you can change the server settings for each account you have in Thunderbird.
You need to modify the email server and smtp settings in Thunderbird. The settings provided for Outlook can be easily translated to Thunderbird. If you don't know how, try using Google or the Thunderbird help system.
Another option is to delete your current email account from Thunderbird and then re-create it. Thunderbird knows the settings needed for verizon.net email addresses, but only when new accounts are created.
If you don't make these changes you won't be able to get verizon.net email through Thunderbird soon. You will still have access to web mail.
Good Luck.
Also make sure you are running the latest version of Thunderbird.
