What happens to Verizon Yahoo email when someone leaves Verizon?

My SO will be switching from Verizon ISP to Comcast. Currently she uses Verizon branded Yahoo email. What will happen with her Verizon Yahoo email when she leaves Verizon? Will it remain in place at Yahoo with the same account name (email address), just without the Verizon branding? Will it go away? Does she need to copy her Verizon Yahoo folders and messages somewhere or make any other preparations before she leaves Verizon? Thanks!

If her email address is a @verizon.net then she will lose it all together and she needs to backup or forward them to another email account. If her address is a @yahoo.com address then she will still keep it, it will just not be branded with Verizon anymore.
