What protocol does the Verizon My FiOS Andriod App use for Email?

Does the Verizon My FiOS Android App use the POP3 protocol for email or does it use something else? Will read states and folder moves be performed on the email server or are they local to the app as they would be for a POP3 client?

POP3, and subject to all of the limitations that POP3 entails, as far as I know.
