Windows 8 "Mail" settings

Hello, and Happy New Year to everyone! I recently purchased an "all-in-one" PC featuring the new Windows 8 operating system. The "Mail" pane on the home screen needs to be configured so that I can send & receive e-mail without need for a separate e-mail client program, i.e.: Outlook or Outlook Express. I've learned that the Windows 8 "Mail" pane does not support POP3 settings. Instead, the pane must be configured using IMAP settings. Verizon's online support only provides details for POP3 settings. Does anyone have information regarding Verizon's IMAP settings for use with the Windows 8 "Mail" pane? Please share! Thanks. Orbotron1

Doesn't exist.  The best options (that I'm familiar with) are Outlook or Thunderbird.  Outlook and Windows Live Mail are essentially the same.  Having used the WIN8 mail app, I think both are superior.

Verizon mail server is pop

A way round your issue would be to get a free gmail account, which supports imap, and forward you verizon mail to that account.
