I have been using Live Mail for two years to access my email at Home.Verizon.Yahoo.com. I have no problems if I go directly to the site. However, recently, every time I try to send/receive mail from my desktop, I get a request for a name and password, and then I get an error message:
"Unable to send or receive messages for the Mail account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.
Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [AUTH] Incorrect username or password.
Server: 'incoming.yahoo.verizon.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No:"
What happened here...I know some other people had a similiar problem, but I wasn't able to use the explanations. I am running Windows 7 with Office 2007. I tried disabling email scanning, but it didn't make a difference. I haven't tried changing the password, as I like my old one. Does anyone know the fix?
Thanks

I finally managed to solve it. I found a URL that gives the settings for the email, and apparenlty they have changed, since my email worked before this. Here's the link, in case anyone else needs it:

Gotta say that I find verizon's support pages pretty pathetic, though I did finally stumble upon the right one...

Well, this is after the fact and far too late to help you, but if you had used the Search function here on the forums and searched on "windows live mail" you should have found this thread which contains the new settings:
I encourage everybody to try searching first if you need help in the future.
