change Primary email account

change in profile - email account is VerizonID@verizon.net trying to change to a different primary email address.  it seems to make the change, but wants to send the verification email to the new address - i cannot get the verification email so the change does not happen.  is there an alternate way to verify the email address (or change the password for that email address?
