@While it is possible to sign up this way, there are many cheaper options out there with a better email product than Verizon offers. It would make sense to sign up this way if you are already using Verizon services and want to keep an existing @verizon.net address, or if you want your billing all in one place.

If you are buying it strictly to have custom domain email, I'd recommend checking out your other options before making the leap.
