I received the e-mail offering the two options. I selected to go to AOL. While I was waiting for the process to complete (it said it might take a few hours) I selected an option which I thought was creating an alias. It turns out that it is not a verizon.net login but aol.com and is the only account I have, with no contacts or mail history. AND
the new AOL.com account isn't recognized by AOL so I can't get any new messages from AOL or verizon!
