verizon.net accounts

just got an email saying verizon is suspending all verizon.net email accounts. Is this legit?

They are not "suspending all verizon.net email accounts".  They are closing down their interface and giving you an option to move all your verizon.net email account to AOL, which is a Verizon Company.  The servers actually were switched over to AOL names last year.

Since email was never a "paid for" option, it would have been "legal" to give you no option and close the Servers.
