I started with Verizon back in the 90s when it was GTE here in Houston. Always liked the service so I've stayed with them. I replaced almost every phone I've had due to water damage (I'm a water park installer). I just got my third Gzone Boulder. I replaced my first Gzone Boulder because it started looking worn. I lost the second one just a few days ago. Both worked great, never had a problem. I purchased my third Gzone Boulder refurbished by Verizon from a online store. It looks and works great but I can't get Backup Assistant on it. I had it on the other Gzone Boulder but can't get it on this one. I was told by *611 I could get a software update from a corporate Verizon store to fix the problem. I've been to 2 corporate store but neither had the way to connect to my phone. Is there a store in the Houston Texas area that still does Software Upgrading or is there some place I can ship the phone that will fix the problem? I would rather pay extra to get Backup Assistant on this phone that I know is reliable than take my chances with a new phone.

tough place to be in. The issue is the certificate to get on the GIN (get it now network) was never renewed meaning the phone hadnt been used in over a year and there is little you can do to get it back.
Does the phone have an SD slot? you might have to do that
The phone has a SD slot but I am not sure how it will help me. I have the contacts from my old phone on the Backup Assistant page in My Verizon. I have started manually copying them to my new phone. I want Backup Assistant just in case something happens to this phone. It was nice knowing once I added a phone number to my phone it was backed up online.

commonsense101 is correct (thanks!), your phone must be updated in order to get Backup Assistant. I recommend calling Verizon Wireless stores in your area before you pay them a visit to ensure they have (or not) the ability to update your device. ya i am having the same problem! i gjust got the phone for my son! i love it but it will not let me into the get in now market... no vzw store in my area will do the upgrade ... say they have not been able to for about a year... any other ideas?
