Brightside SD card problems

So I just got a brightside a little while ago and I just put an 8 gigabyte sd card in it, but it won't recognize it at all. Anyone else have this problem?

I don't have that phone but a couple of things I would try putting it in the computer and seeing if it works because who knows maybe the card is a DOA. One more thing what brand did you get of card maybe a cheap brand ? If it does work connected to a computer try formatting it that could solve your problem.
