My mother has an Exalt and wants no text messaging. How can she disable that ability without My Verizon? She has no email, doesn't use a computer, and doesn't want anything set up that requires a username/password. She receives a paper bill. Now that she's switched to this new phone, she's received telemarketing texts and undoubtedly will be charged. No one from Verizon explained this to her.
She should be able to call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 from a landline or *611 from her phone and request the VZW rep adds a text message block to the line to prevent the line from receiving or sending any text messages.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
