How do I cancel my service. I don't want to suspend it I want it cancelled.

Call Customer Service (dial *611 from a cell phone or (800) 922-0204; when you get the phone tree, press 4 for Other and then say Agent) or visit your local Corporate Verizon store.

If you're planning to move to another carrier and want to keep your number...then don't cancel just yet...port your phone number to the new carrier and it'll close your account at VZW...or at least it should.  I didn't know if you were moving to another carrier but wanted to toss this tidbit of info out just in case you were.  I'd hate to see you lose your phone number if you truly wanted to keep it.
