How do I transfer my text messages to my computer?

I have a Pantech Hotshot phone and was wondering how I can save my text messages on my computer so I can delete them from my phone and free up space.  Thank you in advance for the advice.

I definitely want you to have the space available on your device. This phone is a basic device, so it will be limited on its options for backing up messages. You can setup Verizon Messages that will allow you to view your messages online, via your My Verizon account. http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/explore-verizon-messages-video/ This option is for texts going forward. If you have messages now, that you do not want to lose. The best option would be for you to forward those texts to your own email address.
