If I do a hard reset on my Moto-Barrage-V860, will that wipe-out all my contacts?

My newly purchased Barrage Basic phone is acting up.  The seller suggests I try a hard reset but warns that it will erase all user data & return the handset to factory settings.  Does this mean I'll lose my contact info?

yes

Run Backup Assistant, then log in to your on-line MyVerizon account and verify that they are there.  Once you reset your phone, you then can run Backup Assistant again and put the contacts back on your phone.
