Text Message Check mark icon

In my list of sent messages on my Samsung Gusto flip phone, a check appeared on the envelope instead of incoming or outgoing arrow.  What does this check mean?

The check mark means that the message was delivered to the device the text was sent to

Great question RICBLE26! To clarify, has this ever happened before? Also, have you tried to go back, and start again to see if the same thing happens?
