Verizon no longer has the ability to reflash basic phones at any of their corporate stores, which means if you have software problems on your phone, you can only get it replaced--no option for repair in store. I have come to this conclusion after calling 54 Verizon corporate stores in four states: 7 in Arkansas, 12 in Oklahoma, 25 in Texas and 10 in Florida. Several stated that they had the equipment until about a year ago.
If you have a basic phone, you will have to take it to a cellphone repair shop. Verizon cannot help you unless your phone is under warranty and you would like it replaced, since they no longer have the equipment to fix software issues on the basic phones they currently sell. I can only assume this is part of Verizon's phase out of basic phones to the more profitable smart phones.
If anyone knows of a Verizon store that still has reflashing equipment, please let me know.
